When you come for waxing at Skin So Smooth, you may notice there are a limited amount of products offered. This is for a very specific reason - I won't sell it unless I am sure it works and I think it works well with waxed skin. I researched and looked long and hard to find the perfect product for the most common problems with waxed skin, or the areas where we wax. PFB Vanish is an amazing product that has 3 ingredients that work together to improve your skin and keep it clear and healthy. Any area of your body that is waxed will almost always require special care to remain smooth and healthy.
The number one thing you have to do is follow a sensible and ongoing schedule of EXFOLIATING. I may sound like a broken record when you come in, but I take your skin's healthy reaction to waxing very seriously and want every client who comes to me to have the best care possible. The normal schedule should be 2 times a week, unless you have especially active skin and sometimes 3 times a week will be best for you. Every day is too much and will keep the skin overstimulated and get you right back where you started. So, moderation is the key, and if you have been over exfoliating, give your skin some time to settle in to the new exfoliationg routine. You may have some excess skin build up at first, but if you stick to the schedule of 2 or 3 times a week, you will soon see great results.
The next thing required by many, but not all is a good Ingrown Hair preventative. There are some lucky people - I'm not one of them, so I feel your pain if you get ingrown hairs - but, most of us get ingrown hairs unless we exfoliate and use a great product. I do think the PFB Vanish is the best product available right now, but if you have one you are sold on, that is great. Just read the label and the good ones will tell you to use them every day. If you don't and you get ingrown hairs, the only solution is to go ahead and Use it Every Day! The PFB Vanish has 3 active ingredients that do the work - they are Lactic Acid, Glycolic Acid and Salicylic Acid - might sound like a scary amount of Acid, but these are acids that work well with your skin. They work to break down the bonds between the live and dead skin cells and help your exfoliating be more effective. It is designed to be used every day, because every day you have skin cells building up and needed to be shed and hair growing in that needs a clean free hair follicle in order to come out cleanly. It is in a base of Camphor Oil and Willowbark exctract, so is not pretty and perfumy smelling - it smells slightly like Witch Hazel, but the smell fades in minutes.
The other product I am excited about offering is the PFB Vanish with Chromabright. It is a beautiful product with all the same properties of the PFB Vanish - and yes the less than lovely smell, but it has an added substance called Chromabright that inhibits melanin in the skin and does all this other scientific stuff that basically means it fades the dark spots. I am using it on my face and will be posting pictures of the changes in sun damage spots. I have used it on my face for just over 2 weeks and there is a visible change in the darkness. The full effects are expected at 60 days, with a major change at 30 days. The Chromabright works great on Underam and Bikini darkness. These areas are susceptible to hyperpigmentation because we have a lot of friction in these areas from clothes and movements in our arms and legs. For anyone who has it, they usually feel embarassed or as if no one else has the problem, but it is actually very common and the Chromabright offers a discreet and painless solution to this. So, if you have any questions about either of these products feel free to give a call or email for answers.
